A big part of our mission at GregoryCox.com is to find ways to make the world a better place. This has always been part of who I am going back to 1998 when I created TheLemonClub.com. The Florida newspaper article in the Sun-Sentinel newspaper called me "a new brand of Citizen Activist." That was over 20 years ago and I have not changed. I can share a clip from that article with you.

In the area of apparel one way we try to make the world a better place is to avoid Fast Fashion. Why would I do that? Because the fashion industry is one of the largest polluters in the world. Off shore garment workers make less than $90 a month on average. The returns are often sent to the dump where it can take over 100 years for synthetic fibers to decompose.
As a Citizen Activist I am concerned about environmental stewardship – and that means offering sustainable fashion. But many consumers are victims of deceptive labeling in clothing. This is why I spend a lot of time researching fabric. To illustrate this deception I am quoting two statements from a Good Housekeeping article by Kathleen Huddy:
"... when bamboo is made into a fiber it's processed like a wood pulp, with the end result being rayon. Essentially, there's nothing left that resembles natural bamboo."
"... the amount of chemicals used to process it into a viable textile fiber, which are the same as processing traditional rayon, make it far from green."
I have nothing against bamboo but consumers need to know what they are getting. If I put GroxWear® on a garment label you can be assured there is no deception in the labeling. My objective with GroxWear® apparel is to have a garment that will last for years just like the car I have been driving for 30 years! And that will save the consumer money and the planet at the same time.
